Hi, I’m Jan de Vries — and I’ve been living in Gouda since 2017. I moved here for the location (nicely wedged between the big cities), but quickly fell for the charm: the historic center, the cozy vibe, the weirdly good food scene, and yes, the siroopwafels. Especially the Kamphuisen ones. Life-changing.

I’ve spent over 15 years working as a trainer, teacher, and community manager, and organizing events around the world. So, if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s tell a good story. That’s exactly what I bring to my tours: not just dates and facts, but the fun, surprising, and sometimes slightly absurd stories that bring Gouda to life.
